Richard Gaunt*

Richard Gaunt

Richard has degrees in Economics (University of Cambridge) and Business Studies (University of Wales) and has extensive experience as a project manager, consultant and senior operational manager. He has worked in Operational Research and Systems Analysis in the Steel Industry, on project appraisal and forward planning in the public sector (including management responsibility for an 850-place government funded adult training unit). His research experience covers all aspects of DFEE/TEC activity, assessments of local labour market characteristics, organisational learning and skill needs. Since entering consultancy he has also carried out many management development and organisation change assignments including improving management skills, promoting excellent team performance, clarifying sound missions and values, and goal setting. He is a member of the IPD and a fully accredited Investors in People Assessor with E11 and E31 TDLB units.

   

Andrew Rix

Andrew is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with over 20 years of research and evaluation experience. After graduation he conducted research into Interpersonal Skills at the University of Bradford Management Centre prior to work experience in Personnel and Management Services in the steel industry. After 14 years as a lecturer in the department of Industrial Relations and Management Studies at University College, Cardiff and latterly at the Cardiff Business School, he became a founding partner of CRG in 1988. Since then he has undertaken many research and evaluation assignments and published widely on learning, skill and information needs, organisation change and many linked topics. Other experience includes designing and running training courses aimed at improving interpersonal and team skills, facilitating/advising on behavioural aspects of safety in an offshore environment, including risk and stress analysis, and developing/implementing change management programmes often in large and complex organisations.

Kyle Davies*

Kyle Davies

Kyle is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with a near-10 year research and consultancy record looking at education and training; organisational, management and economic development; and public policy measures in many settings. He has project managed a range of assignments for DfES, LLSCs, WDA and others on projects as varied as the provision of learning support services for the 'disengaged' in the Black Country, through to managing and delivering a programme of coaching graduates in SMEs in Wales. His career experience extends into assessment and selection, organisational change and development, training, personal and career development, coaching and counselling, and behavioural aspects of health and safety. He holds a B.Sc. in Psychology (University of Wales, Swansea) and an M.Phil in Applied Psychology (University of Leicester); certificates of competence Level A and B in psychometric testing; is a certified NLP Master Practitioner, and holds D32 and D33 Vocational Assessor NVQs.

   

Stephen Raybould

Stephen has a degree in Economics (University of Bath) and an MBA (Cardiff Business School) and joined CRG as an Economist in 1999. He is an experienced evaluator in areas of public sector policy development having conducted research for, amongst others, DfES, Welsh Development Agency, Wales Management Council and Mid Wales TEC. He was also an active member of the CRG-led consortium commissioned by the Welsh Assembly Government for the Mid-term European Funds evaluation of the Objective 1 and Objective 3 programmes. His wider research interests include public sector performance management and he has recently completed 5 high-profile cost-benefit evaluations for the Home Office (Crime Reduction Programme). He is currently involved with a further 3 cost-benefit evaluations for the Home Office in conjunction with the Universities of Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea and Leicester, and is conducting research for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister on the cost effectiveness of interventions aimed at reducing the incidence of arson.

Debbie Roberts

Debbie is an Occupational Psychologist and qualified Stress Management consultant. A highly experienced researcher, she has broadly based experience of publicly funded training and community support programmes, processes and support services, drawn from the UK and more widely. She is currently working on projects to promote levels of employability for people with a range of disabilities (for Employment Service Head Office). In addition to research and evaluation assignments she has undertaken a wide-range of Human Resource Development activities. Her experience includes coaching, counselling, training needs analysis, training delivery, design and implementation of outplacement programmes and career management. She is currently involved in delivering a management development programme for a Local Authority. The training she has undertaken has brought her into contact with a wide range of sectors and professional institutions who vary widely in their approach to continuous professional development.
